Each monthly issue included a wide variety of topics of interest to amateur gardeners and commercial growers. Fruit was predominant, especially apples but also raspberries, pears, melons, grapes and plums. Other articles covered cultivation of native plants, ornamental plants for winter effects, catalpa, spraying fungicides and insecticides, roadside trees, and native trees and shrubs in landscaping.
