New York: Island Press, 1942. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. 118 pages. Hardcover, bound in a distinctive cloth, mostly gray with bits of red, green and blue; lacking the jacket. Spine a bit darkened, and scattered yellow areas on the endpapers, possibly an effect of the glue used in making the book, but otherwise a clean, tight copy. Item #852
A relatively early title in the Alcoholics Anonymous collecting area. The author, who also wrote the book The Big Bender (Harper and Bros., 1938), advocates a goal of drinking in moderation rather than of abstention. However, he also gives substantial attention and praise to the Alcoholics Anonymous organization and its practices.
