"Translated from the Swedish with Introduction, Notes and Appendices, Containing a List of Swedish Officers Who Took Part in the Struggle, by Amandus Johnson." Tornquist was a young Swedish naval officer serving in the French navy under Count De Grasse, whose efforts during the war contributed significantly to the colonists' victory over the English. A nicely produced book, illustrated with the frontispiece of the count, six other plates on glossy paper showing reproductions of documents and earlier works' title pages, and eight other plates charting naval actions in various battles.
