Translated from French by Vivienne Menkes; the original edition was published in Paris in 1976. According to the editor's foreward, this was the first French cycling book translated into English, and although "slightly Anglicized to clarify certain points, this book is essentially a French enthusiast's look at the sport and pastime of cycling." The author discusses serious racing and more leisurely riding in readable and informative text complemented by many photos. A great look at the bikes and people of early 1970s European cycling.
