Good condition; green cloth is mottled in a few areas, mostly at the bottom of the front board and the top of the rear board; pages a little toned from age. Still fairly presentable, thanks to having an attractive general design. Frontispiece and three other plates. The book give a description and discussion of the contents of the Journal and its sequel, the Literary Courier of Grub-Street, which together were published in London from 1730 to 1738. From the preface: "The Journal spent most of its time in combat ; hence the matter of organization [of the book] con sisted largely of tracing out its compaigns and grouping them according to their nature."
