A widely noted but hard-to-find analysis of Child's kitchen, illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs and one line drawing. Organized in three parts: "The Kitchen--A 20th Century Perspective," "A Design Anatomy" of Child's kitchen, and "Conjecture with Julia." The primary author, commercial designer Bill Stumpf, later created the famous Aeron chair.
